Solved: 40 Channel Limit

I`m want to buy a freeview recorder with a HDD. But i`m a bit miffed as some of them has a 40 channel limit. I take it that if more than 40 channels are on freeview i wont be able to view some of them :x . Anyone reccomend a cheap one that has no limit?

I think it's more likely that you can tune in ANY 40 channels.

But there's only just over 40 channels anyway (assuming you mean tv) and it's unlikely you'll want to watch all of them.

What i mean is, I`d like to record any of them. Cant see the point in buying a freeview recorder that will only let you record certain stations.

Solved: 40 Channel Limit

There are quite a few shopping channels, and radio channels, I don't think you would want to record these would you? Have you checked to see just how many channels you can watch? Also some of the channels are showing the same stuff at the same time. Eg, channel 4 and channel 4+1.

Solved: 40 Channel Limit

I see Pebble's point but
1. my boxes (limited number) only offer the scan, no tune specific station, so you get what it finds.
2. you can record any of these (radio included)
3. the +1 channels aren't exactly transmitting the same stuff - it is an hour delayed, giving those with limited recording/viewing options the chance to see the stuff at a different time.
