Okay, I'm waiting for reader feedback to filter through to the mag before I decide whether to continue my subscription and trust the staff to listen and continue the great tradition of PCA.
But, having received my new mag this morning (with a little bit of anticipation/excitement) find there are obvious proof-reading/editorial mistakes glaring at me straight away. There were a few last month too but I let them go.
I've read up to p38 (I say read, but some is just looking at pictures) and have been pleased with some of the content.
So, here are a couple problems that jump out so far:
1 - the most obvious - p38 - Nick P's answer to "Sending Two Copies" is duplicated for "Individual Restore Points". I was interested in his answer but now have no idea on his solution/opinion.
2 - p34 - Nick V's answer to "How can I gain access to the..." - half way though his answer, the sentence is cut short "- click Start, right-click... and choose." Choose what? I guess he meant to say "Manage" but again we're left to guess.
As the mag is reaching out to a wider audience with less technical skill/knowledge I believe this will put them off and confuse them, not just annoy people like me.
I won't go on but with all the other issues menioned recently, I hoped that at least the text would make sense.
Any thoughts? Nick?
Ronnie

Correction
Isitme - 16 August 2008 - 2:34pmAt least they have corrected last months bloomer about opening PSUs. No direct mention of the cock up they made in even suggesting it, that I have found so far.
The content is weak, with just about everything repeated on the video disk. Why they go to the bother of writing any articles beats me, they would be as well just printing an index to the disk, they would save even more pages.

Mistakes
Clifford Hope - 20 August 2008 - 3:53pmApologies Ronnie - both editorial mistakes are my fault.
1) The complete question/answer in Helpdesk should have read as follow:
Q
Individual Restore Points
Is it possible to delete individual System Restore points to free up space on my hard drive?
Arthur Green
A
No, it’s not. System Restore points are cumulative, which means they rely on later Restore points to function correctly. Older Restore points become less reliable, so it’s a good idea to periodically use Disk Cleanup to remove all but the most recent Restore point to free up disk space.
2) You're right, Ronnie - the missing command is Manage.
Once again, sorry for making the two schoolboy errors.
