External Drive

Hi

When I connected an external HD to my computer via a powered usb hub the computer did not recognise the drive. When I pluged the HD directly into a port on the computer it worked OK.

Is this normal or have a missed something doing the connection via the hub?

I would always plug an external HD directly into a spare port on your computer. Hubs are best left to peripherals like mice and printers.
