Hi
i have just returned from the uk and on starting up my laptop i went to go on the net but could not i went into device manager and found a yellow exclamation mark against the above .
I went into (help and support) where it stated to remove the offending item and then replace it, but on trying this it stated that you cannot do this as the pc needs this to boot up.
Any help would be grateful.

Isitme - 27 October 2008 - 9:11pmThe WAN Mini port is a virtual device, it exists only in software. I am not sure why you are being told it is needed to boot, as it is a network device. I would ignore the warning you are given and delete it anyway. After you delete it, right click the My Computer icon at the top of the list and select 'Scan for Hardware changes' It will be detected and reinstalled.
Regardless of the above it should not stop you connecting to the internet, unless you have or have had AOL. If you don't have AOL have a look around your PC and delete anything you find connected to AOL. It is sometimes pre-installed with an OEM installation.
Finally it would do no harm to install your network adapters drivers using the latest available from the manufacturer. Do both ethernet and wireless.
